Hill-Murray at Edina
7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5

Hill-Murray, the defending Class 2A state champions, got off to a rocky start this season, losing its first two games and falling from its top ranking in the preseason poll.

The Pioneers have landed at No. 4 and ended their losing skid with an impressive 4-0 win against No. 6 Lakeville South on Nov. 25.

Friday offers Hill-Murray (1-2-0) the chance to ease concerns regarding its rough start by notching another victory over a highly ranked opponent as the Pioneers travel to No. 7-2A Edina (5-1-1).

Senior forward Becca Zarembinski leads Hill-Murray with two goals. Junior forward Laura Anderson has one goal and one assist for the Pioneers.

The Hornets ended their own two-game winless streak (a 4-3 loss to Roseau on Nov. 21 and a 3-3 tie with Warroad on Nov. 22) with a 5-2 victory over No. 2-2A Breck.

Edina's Taylor Williamson scored a hat trick against the Mustangs, giving the senior forward a team-high 16 goals.

Hill-Murray and Edina have played to a 1-1 tie in each of the last two years. The Pioneers defeated the Hornets 2-1 in 2011.
