Chaska/Chanhassen started the season with back-to-back seven-goal games, recording a wild 7-6 overtime win over Holy Family/Waconia and a 7-2 win over Buffalo. The No. 15-2A Storm Hawks (3-1) even gave No. 1-1A Blake a game in a 5-1 loss on Nov. 14.

Bemidji State commit Lydia Passolt had four goals in each of the first two games while senior forward Mollie Wise has assisted on 11 of the team’s 15 goals this season. Minnesota State, Mankato commit Sofia Poinar has three goals in three games.

Chaska/Chanhassen lost to Wayzata 3-2 in last year's Eden Prairie tournament as the Trojans scored the game-winner with one minute left in the game.

Wayzata goalie Sarah Stelter is back following a junior season in which she went 15-10-2 with a 1.82 goals-against average with a .904 save percentage.

Forward Maddie Wolsmann (9-18-27), junior forward Natalie Heising (13-22-35) and junior Lindsay Czech (4-5-9) are among the returners for the Trojans, who graduated leading scorer and Wisconsin commit Sophia Shaver (17-8-25) from a team that posted a 15-10-2 overall record.

Wayzata upset Maple Grove 5-1 in the Class 2A, Section 6 semifinals last year but lost to Minnetonka 3-2 in overtime in the section championship.

The No. 4-2A Trojans (2-0) routed Shakopee 8-0 in the season opener and beat Benilde-St. Margaret’s 3-1 last week. Heising has three goals and three assists while Wolsmann, Tyra Swanson and Meg Ransom each have two goals.
