Hill-Murray at Maple Grove
7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16

Hill-Murray showed why it has remained atop the Class 2A coaches' rankings with a 7-0 rout of No. 6-2A Chaska/Chanhassen on Jan. 9. It was the 10th shutout of the season for the No.1-2A Pioneers (16-0-1), who got a hat trick from Abigail Boreen and two goals from Jac Kaasa.

Kaasa (16-7-23) has scored at least one goal in four straight games while Boreen (10-16-26) and Laura Anderson (19-6-25) lead Hill-Murray in points.

The Pioneers have allowed just nine total goals this season, and only Lakeville South and Blake have scored more than once in a game against Hill-Murray with each tallying two goals.

The No. 4-2A Crimson (13-3-2) have just one victory over a top-5 ranked team, but get another chance to double that total when they host the Hill-Murray.

Claire McLean (5-6-11), Maia Martinez (8-4-12) and Hailey Herdine (9-10-19) each had two goals in Maple Grove's 8-2 win over Totino-Grace on Jan. 9.

Abby Larson’s game-winner with four seconds left in overtime gave the Crimson a 3-2 win over the Pioneers in one of the most memorable games between top-5 ranked teams last season.
