Blaine snapped Elk River’s season-opening 10-game unbeaten streak with a 1-0 victory on Dec. 12, and the No. 9-2A Elks are eyeing the a chance to end Blaine's 10-game winning streak on Saturday.

Elk River (14-2-2, 9-1-2) is 6-1 since that loss to the No. 7-2A Bengals (16-2, 9-2) and has scored five or more goals in five of those games.

Breanna Simon (15-16-31) has team-highs in goals and points while Shae McLean (10-19-29) has scored three times in the past two games for the Elks.

Elk River trails Maple Grove in the Northwest Suburban Conference standings with one game remaining to play against the Crimson.

The Bengals, however, could end the Elks' chances of clinching a share of the conference title with a win on Saturday.
