Anoka at Mounds View
7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 21

Anoka has flown under the radar this season, but the Tornadoes (11-7-2, 6-6-2) will likely give some teams fits in the postseason.

Anoka has competed well against some of the state's best teams but just hasn’t gotten the victories. The Tornadoes, who have played five overtime games, tied No. 4-2A Maple Grove and No. 7-2A Elk River/Zimmerman while falling 4-3 in overtime to No. 11-2A Centennial.

Games against No. 16-2A Mounds View and No. 9-2A Blaine are Anoka's last chances to upset ranked opponents in the regular season and should prepare the Tornadoes for a run in the postseason.

Goalie Molly Scarborough (10-7-2, 1.64, .945) has four shutouts and helped anchor the defense this season. Kailey Cameron (5-2-7) leads the Tornadoes in scoring, while three players have four goals and four others have three for an Anoka team averaging just 2.05 goals per game.

Mounds View’s leading scorer Sydney Brodt (13-14-27) returns after playing with the U.S. Women’s Under-18 National Team in the World Championship tournament and should provide a boost for the team's offense.

Rachel Anderson (12-12-24) had goals in back-to-back games for the Mustangs (10-7-3, 7-5-1), who have played in six overtime contests this season.
