Eden Prairie at Edina
7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26

Longtime rivals Eden Prairie and Edina won't face off in the Class 2A, Section 2 tournament for the foreseeable future after realignment moved the Hornets into Section 6.

However, their Lake Conference clash on Tuesday will certainly have a playoff feel.

No. 5-2A Eden Prairie (15-6-2, 5-2) and No. 3-2A Edina (15-6-1, 3-3-1) are no longer in the same playoff bracket due to section reassignment, but are all set for a Lake Conference game that will certainly have a playoff feel.

Rachel Werdin’s goal with 16 seconds left gave the No. 5-2A Eagles (15-6-2, 5-2) a home victory in the first meeting of the season on Jan. 9. Eden Prairie goalie Alexa Dobchuk (15-6-2, 1.43, .940) made 32 saves in the win, one of nine shutouts she has this season.

The Eagles have won five of their past six games, falling only to No. 2-2A Minnetonka on Jan. 16. Eden Prairie took a 2-0 lead in the first period but couldn't contain the Skippers' Presley Norby, who notched the hat trick in a 3-2 victory.

The Hornets are coming off a 4-1 loss to Minnetonka after Norby scored three times in the third period, including two shorthanded goals.

Emily Oden (16-6-22) has eight goals and four assists in her past six games for Edina.
