Mahtomedi at Warroad
7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18

Despite falling to Hastings 4-1 on Nov. 10, Mahtomedi has enough talent to shake off the loss and compete for a state tournament bid this year.

Senior forward Kennedy Bergren (10-10-20) and sophomore forward Jordyn McAlpine (10-7-17) are back after respectable seasons and capable of carrying the Zephyrs offense. Bergren scored the lone goal in Mahtomedi's loss to Hastings.

Warroad seems poised to build on last season's third-place finish at the Class 1A state tournament with senior Mariah Gardner (35-58-93) and junior Madison Oelkers (30-41-71) returning. The forwards were top two scorers for the team a year ago, and the Minnesota State-Mankato commits anchor the front end while senior goaltender Emma Brunelle (17-4-1) is also returns and solidifies the back end for the No. 4-1A Warriors.
