Maple Grove vs. Andover
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6

Maple Grove has responded in impressive fashion after opening the season with a 6-3 loss to No. 2-2A Edina.

The No. 3-2A Crimson (5-1) have won five consecutive games, including shutouts over Anoka (6-0), Elk River (2-0) and No. 1-2A Eden Prairie (2-0).

While the defense has been garnering some attention, the offense remains a threat behind primary weapons sophomore forward Mannon McMahon (8-8-16) and senior forward Taylor Wente (7-7-14).

Andover began the season with four victories and rebounded from its first loss, a 3-2 defeat to Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids on Nov. 29, with a 5-2 win over Duluth on Dec. 3.

Andover (5-1) also has a sophomore at the top of the scoring list, with Paige Anderson recording four goals and 12 points. Junior forward Claire Butorac (7-4-11) leads the Huskies in goals.
