Blake vs. Eden Prairie
5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22
The defending Class 1A and Class 2A state champions square off in one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the season when Blake meets Eden Prairie.
Blake (7-1-1, 1-0) has held the No. 1 ranking in Class 1A since the preseason. Impressively, 10 Bears have five or more points this season, led by sophomore forward Izzy Daniel (7-5-12) and junior forward and Dartmouth commit Sara McClanahan (3-9-12).
Eden Prairie has put its early season woes in the rear view mirror and enters the week on a four-game winning streak.
Thursday's game begins a three-game stretch against three ranked teams for the Eagles (8-2), including matchups with No. 1-2A Edina and No. 8-2A Cretin-Derham Hall.
For No. 3-1A Eden Prairie to continue its winning streak, senior forward Naomi Rogge (13-11-24) will need to continue her strong play. The Minnesota Duluth commit is second in the Lake Conference in goals and points, trailing only Hopkins/Park junior Kylie Hanley (14 goals, 26 points).
