Mounds View vs. Cretin-Derham Hall
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3

After suffering a 2-1 loss to Elk River in the first round of the Kaposia Classic Holiday Tournament, Mounds View bounced back to defeat Bloomington Jefferson 4-2 and Roseville 5-2 to claim the tournament's consolation championship.

The Mustangs (10-3, 7-0), ranked No. 14 in Class 2A in the state coaches' poll, are led in scoring by senior forward Rachel Anderson (7 goals) while sophomore forward Lisa Nadeau leads in points (11).

A tie to Roseau and a loss to Eagan left Cretin-Derham Hall reeling after the Mid-Winter Meltdown, where the No. 10-2A Raiders took out their frustration by walloping No. 13-2A Wayzata 7-3 on Dec. 29. Sophomore forward Emily King and senior forward Jordan Hansen each recorded three points in the win for the Raiders (8-4-2).
