After going winless in three straight games, Eden Prairie won back-to-back contests, defeating No. 15-2A Wayzata on Jan. 14 and No. 8-2A Centennial on Jan. 20, before falling to No. 1-2A Edina on Jan. 21. 

The No. 4-2A Eagles (14-6-1, 2-2-1) have been led all season offensively by senior forward and Minnesota-Duluth commit Naomi Rogge (25-19-44), and defensively by junior goaltender Alexa Dobchuk (1.43 goals-against average, seven shutouts). 

Minnetonka (10-8-3, 3-2-1) has earned just one win in its last five games, but the Skippers remain in second place in the Lake Conference, one slot ahead of the Eagles. 

The No. 10-2A Skippers are paced by senior forward and St. Cloud State commit Emma Bigham (15-13-28), who is tied for third in the Lake Conference in goals. 

The first meeting between the teams on Jan. 10 ended in a 3-3 tie.
