Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids vs. East Grand Forks
5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28

Don't let Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids' pedestrian record of 11-8-1 fool you -- these Panthers are turning it on at the right time heading into this matchup.

Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids (11-8-1, 8-4-1) has won four consecutive games, all by shutout, and upset No. 3-2A Maple Grove 1-0 on Jan. 21. Junior goaltender Sami Miller made 29 saves to earn the blank sheet against the Crimson, giving her five for the season. Miller's current shutout total is tied with Blaine's Morgan Cin for tops among Northwest Suburban Conference goaltenders.

East Grand Forks (10-5-3, 5-3-2) has won just once in its last four games, struggling on offense while totaling just two goals in that stretch.

The Green Wave counter the Panthers' Miller with its own junior phenom, Mckenzie Whalen, who's posted a goals-against average of 1.72 and a save percentage of .946 to go along with her own five shutouts.
