Red Wing senior forward Taylor Heise has become one of Minnesota's best-known girls' hockey players. But for Heise and the No. 3-1A Wingers, Northfield has been their kryptonite.
After falling to the Raiders in the 2016 Class 1A, Section 1 final, Red Wing (8-2, 2-1) suffered its first loss of the season to the Raiders on Nov. 30.
In the 1-0 win, the Raiders (7-3-1, 5-0) were led by senior goalie Mallory Tidona. She had 41 saves to cap off her shutout performance.
Heise will look to get her first goal against Northfield this season in the teams' second matchup. The Minnesota commit has continued to score at a rapid pace. In Saturday's 5-2 win over No. 10-1A Proctor/Hermantown, Heise notched a hat trick and an assist. She has 21 goals on the season.
