I want to let you know from the start, I am not a computer guy, so there will be a learning curve. That being said, it is my intention to provide lots of different things about the girl’s and women’s game, about our teams, coaches and players, about our coaches organization, about issues that may come up, about perspectives on the game itself, and mostly about this “great” game!
I also want to make this a web site that you will want to visit often. That was our intent when we started the site a few years back. One thing that will bring everyone to our web site, and keep them coming back is up to date and complete statistics. In order for that to happen, I am calling upon our coaches (all of them) to take the time to:
The potential is limitless, with elaborate team pages, individual pictures, video clips, team logos, and more.
You barely have time to get your next practice plan ready, you say! I know… I’ve been there. You do have some options. Find a parent, student athlete, team manager, assistant coach, or even your spouse, to help you out in this process. Each program has someone who can do this, because most of you coaches really don’t have the time!
After a few weeks, I will from time to time, remind schools, programs, and coaches, who are not taking advantage of this great web site. As your president, it is of importance to me, that we have everyone on the same wave length! That would be to use the web site to its fullest! It doesn’t matter whether you are 4-15, or 16-3, every program should be represented. Your players will benefit, and your team will feel like an important part of our state wide program. In addition to parents, players, coaches and fans of girl’s hockey, we will begin to draw college coaches to our site as well.
So, as we drop the puck on a new season, I have given you one more goal to achieve. From here I’ll work to help you, remind you, and cheer you on. Let’s have a great season for Girls High School Hockey. Much has been done in 17 years, but still a few more things to do!
