Sophomore Amy Menke was the second-leading scorer for Shakopee's girls' hockey team a year ago, and she is off to a fast start this season. She has six goals and six assists in the first three games. Here is a closer look at Menke:

The best movie you've seen in the past year? "Toy Story 3" and "The Social Network."

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe you: Funny; happy; random.

Favorite pregame meal: Pomegranate seeds, Spaghettios with sliced franks, or a ham and cheese sandwich.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? I look at the days I have games and make sure I have time to do the homework for that night beforehand.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? To make lacrosse a high school sport at Shakopee. Right now, it is a club team.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... nervous to mess up. I was also intimidated by the older players, but glad my sister Julie was there.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Scoring the winning overtime goal against New Prague at the buzzer.

Your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Minnesota Gopher women's hockey team. I want to play for them in college.

Do you have a secret talent - and if so, what is it? Do the wave and make weird shapes with my stomach.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? When you shoot, shoot to score and play a sport because you love it, not because other people want you to love it.
