As the fall prep season winds down, Minnesota begins the transformation into the State of Hockey this week with many girls' high school programs playing their first games of the season.

Following the graduation of senior players, the stage is set for returners to take over the spotlight, including many who made substantial impacts a season ago.

St. Peter junior Jordan Keeley is one such player. She was the only goalie in the state to surpass the 1,000-save mark en route to posting an impressive .924 save percentage last year.

Warroad's Mariah Gardner and Madison Oelkers are also back. Both ranked in the top 20 for goals with Gardner scoring 35 goals (No. 10) and Oelkers with 30 (No. 15) They both were also in the top three for assists in the state, with Gardner recording 58 (No. 1) and Oelkers tallying 41 (No. 3). The duo looks to build on their success and lead the Warriors to the state tournament for the second consecutive season.
