If Lakeville South is looking for a rebound game after being shut out by Eden Prairie to start the season, then crosstown rival Lakeville North is a prime target.

Despite a lack of scoring against the Eagles, the Cougars return several offensive threats who powered a run to the Class 2A state tournament a year ago.

Halle Gill (21 goals, 20 assists, 41 points) and Emily Fischler (21-16-37) guided Lakeville South the consolation finals, where it lost to Eastview 2-1, and the senior forwards now hope to help Cougars (0-1), who are ranked No. 11 in Class 2A in Let's Play Hockey's preseason poll, build off last season's success.

Junior forward and Duluth commit Maggie Flaherty (16-22-38) spearheads offense for No. 17-2A Lakeville North, which went 14-11-2 last year.

The Panthers (0-1) also dropped their first game of the season, losing 4-0 to Blake, the state's top-ranked Class 1A team.

With familiar rivals featuring players looking to record their first victory, this matchup is our pick for the Top Game of the Week.
