HUDSON, Wis. – One of the captains of the Hudson High School hockey team has returned home after sustaining a serious injury during the Tuesday, Dec. 21, game against Hayward, Wis., according to the Hudson Star-Observer.
Destrey Zarfos, a senior defenseman for the Raiders, was taken by ambulance to Hudson Hospital, and later moved to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
During the game, Zarfos went head first into the side boards. The Star-Observer reported that Zarfos suffered three cracked vertebrae, but did not appear to be paralyzed.
She returned home Wednesday, Dec. 22.
