She is the team's leading scorer

Courtney Boucher, Hastings

A few moments with Courtney Boucher, the leading scorer on the Hastings girls’ hockey team.

• Most memorable moment as a high school athlete so far? Last year we beat Stillwater at home 2-0 with our head coach missing. We went out to celebrate after and ended up having a snow day the next day. It was the best 24 hours ever.

• What are your goals as a high school athlete?Simple: to play our last game at the Xcel Energy Center.

• At my first varsity practice, I felt …? Intimidated. It was an eye-opening experience.

• How did you get started playing hockey? I played almost every sport when I was younger. My parents told me I had to pick just one winter sport. The choice was easy. There is nothing like being on the ice.

• What is your school’s biggest rival? Park of Cottage Grove. Our towns are very close to each other and every year it is a very fun yet intense matchup.

• If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? That there would be more fan support.

• What is your favorite sports team? I’m a big Gopher fan. I grew up loving the U of M and now that my brother attends the U, I love going to campus. Nothing compares to a packed Mariucci or Williams Arena.

• Secret talent:I can sing exactly like Taylor Swift. My voice is often mistaken for hers.
