Wayzata at Edina
7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23

No. 1-2A Eden Prairie may be the favorite to win the Lake Conference, but the other four teams - including Wayzata and Edina - have a legitimate shot at winning the league title, as well.

That makes this matchup between the No. 9-2A Trojans (7-3-2) and the No. 4-2A Hornets (8-3-1) pretty significant with the loser falling further behind.

Wayzata has a 1-2 league record after losing at No. 15-2A Hopkins 6-3 on Dec. 13 and falling to Eden Prairie 3-2 on Dec. 20. The Trojans defeated No. 7-2A Minnetonka 2-1 on Dec. 16.

Senior Sophia Shaver leads Wayzata with 12 goals.

Edina is also 0-2 in league play with losses to Minnetonka (3-1 on Dec. 13) and at Hopkins (2-1 on Dec. 18).

Senior Taylor Williamson leads the Hornets with 18 goals and 10 assists.

The Trojans and Hornets split the regular-season series last year. Edina won the first game 4-1, while Wayzata needed overtime to record a 3-2 victory in the second.
