Maple Grove at Hill-Murray
2:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17

Maple Grove leads the Northwest Suburban Conference with four games to go, and a league title is in sight. But the No. 2-2A Crimson (17-0-1, 13-0-0) can't overlook any opponent if they want to finish the season undefeated.

Hill-Murray is certainly on Maple Grove's radar. The No. 4-2A Pioneers enter the week with a 12-4 record and are one of the toughest opponents remaining on the Crimson's schedule.

This matchup will likely come down to goaltending, where Maple Grove has a decided edge.

Sophomore goalies Breanna Blesi and Coco Francis have split time between the pipes, helping the Crimson remain undefeated. Blesi is 8-0-1 and has the state's second-best goals against average (0.97) and save percentage (.962). Francis is 9-0-0 with a .922 save percentage. Her 1.10 goals against average is third-best in the state.

Hill-Murray still hasn't solidified its goaltender position, but senior and Union commit Leah Patrick (10-4-0, 1.94, .901) is getting the bulk of the playing time over junior Mari Johnson (2-0-0, 0.38, .955).
