Maple Grove at Minnetonka
7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 15

The schedule makers did Maple Grove no favors as the Crimson go on the road to take on Minnetonka and Hill-Murray in a span of three days.

No. 2-2A Maple Grove (17-0-1), however, might be catching No. 3-2A Minnetonka (14-5) at a good time. The Skippers recorded their second overtime loss to No. 1-2A Eden Prairie in a 10-day span on Jan. 10.

Annalise Rice seems poised to be Minnetonka's next offensive threat. She has scored seven goals and nine points in the Skippers' last six games. Minnetonka's Tatyana Delaitrre is allowing just 1.32 goals per game, seventh-best in the state.

Maple Grove has absorbed the best shots from every opponent on its schedule and yet to buckle. No. 2-2A Maple Grove is undefeated with victories over No. 6-2A Edina (2-1) and No. 7-2A Wayzata (3-0).

Sophomore forward Taylor Wente and sophomore goalies Breanna Blesi and Coco Francis have been instrumental in the Crimson's success. Wente leads the team in goals (17) and points (31). She has scored 11 goals and 20 points in the last seven games.

Blesi (8-0-1) and Francis (9-0-0, .922) are statistically two of the state's best goalies. Blesi's 0.97 goals against average is second-best in the state, while Francis' 1.10 is third-best. Blesi is also No. 2 in save percentage (.962).
