Thief River Falls at Detroit Lakes

In its first trip to the state tournament, Thief River Falls won the Class 1A title and completed a 26-1-3 year by beating Blake 3-1 in the championship game.

Having graduated last year's leading scorer Emily Bergland (32G, 34A) and starting goalie Frances Marshall (26-1-3, eight shutouts, .840 GAA, .954 save percentage), the No. 3-1A Prowlers look to regroup with junior forward Kora Torkelson (27G, 24A) and senior all-state defender Briana Jorde (11G, 21A).

Detroit Lakes returns one of the state's top scorers in Hailey Sonstegard, who scored 30 goals and had 13 assists last year. Hannah Rhodes is also back after posting an 11-goal, five-assist season.

The Lakers lost both meetings with Thief River Falls last season and finished with a 17-9-1 record following a 3-1 loss to Alexandria in the Class 1A, Section 6 championship.
