Moose Lake-Willow River at Proctor/Hermantown
7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12

In just the season's second game, Moose Lake-Willow River will get the rematch it has wanted all offseason as it heads to Proctor/Hermantown for a rematch with the Mirage, who defeated the Rebels 4-0 in the Class 1A, Section 7 semifinals last season.

Moose Lake-Willow River also lost both regular-season meetings with Proctor/Hermantown (7-1 and 5-1), but had defeated eventual Section 7 champion Hibbing/Chisholm 1-0 and 3-0 prior to the post season. The Mirage held the No. 1 seed for the section tournament, but were upset by the second-seeded Bluejackets 2-1 in the championship game.

The No. 19-1A Rebels return plenty of experience from last year, including leading scorer Jessica Bird, who finished with 35 goals and 44 assists. Asia Gobel (33G, 16A), Jamie Bird (13G, 26A), Sage Gerard (12G, 19A), Lauren Pederson (10G, 9A) and goalie Maddy Gamst (2.39 GAA, .880 save percentage) are also back.

Jessica Bird opened the season with three goals and two assists while Ruby Mohelsky scored twice in a 7-2 win over North Shore.

Proctor/Hermantown came away with the Class 1A consolation title two years ago and has posted back-to-back 20-win seasons.

All-state honorable mention forward Sophie McGovern returns for her senior season after leading the Mirage with 30 goals and 24 assists last year. Forwards Callie Hoff (25G, 28A), Brielle Larson (17G, 9A), Karie Lenard (12 G, 7A) and defender Mikayla Kero (6G, 12A) are also back for No. 10-1A Proctor/Hermantown.

Hoff scored three goals as the Mirage beat New Prague 3-1 in the season opener on Nov. 7.
