Wayzata at Edina
7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15

Both Wayzata and Edina had their season-opening winning streaks snapped recently.

The No. 3-2A Hornets (7-1, 1-0) lost for the first time Dec. 9, stumbling in a 2-0 defeat to No. 1-2A Hill-Murray, and the No. 4-2A Trojans (10-1, 0-1) fell 5-0 to No. 2-2A Minnetonka on Dec. 12.

Edina has allowed just six goals on the year, while Wayzata had five shutouts in its first eight games.

Trojans junior forward and Penn State commit Natalie Heising (9-14-23) and senior forward Maddie Wolsmann (9-12-21) lead the team in scoring.

Wayzata, which has 10 seniors on the roster, has found balanced scoring with senior forwards Meg Ransom (4-6-10) and Tyra Swanson (5-1-6). Junior defender and Minnesota-Duluth commit Lindsay Czech headlines the defense.

Hornets junior goalie Anna Goldstein has quietly put together an impressive season with a 0.71 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage. Goldstein is 6-1 and hasn't given up a goal in three games this season, including a 16-save shutout in a 4-0 victory over Hopkins/St. Louis Park on Dec. 12.

Lolita Fidler (6-8-14), who had a goal and an assist in the win over Hopkins/St. Louis Park, has four game-winners for Edina, including one in a 2-1 victory over No. 2-1A Breck. Anna Klein (6-2-8) and Sophie Slattery (2-8-10) are others to watch for the Hornets.
