Andover upset top-seeded Elk River 5-4 in last year’s Class 2A, Section 7 championship despite being one game below .500 at the start of the playoffs.

The Huskies (7-4, 5-3) have gotten five or more goals this year from five players, including Morgan Czech (7-7-14), who had one goal prior to erupting for five in a 7-4 win over Hastings on Dec. 11. Claire Butorac (10-7-17) had three assists and senior forward Michelle Holmes (7-7-14) had a goal and an assist in the victory.

Andover is coming off a 2-1 loss to No. 16-2A Centennial on Dec. 12

Elk River (8-1-2, 7-1-2) has a high-flying offense that averages better than five goals a game but were shut out by Blaine in a 1-0 loss on Dec. 12 that ended the No. 7-2A Elks' season-opening 10-game winning streak.

Breanna Simon (9-10-19), Shae McLean (6-12-18) and Andrea Westgaard (6-3-9) are the team's leading goal scorers.
