Forest Lake at White Bear Lake
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 2

Forest Lake hasn’t finished with a winning record since the 2012-13 season, which culminated with an appearance in Class 2A state tournament. The No. 19-2A Rangers (6-4, 6-1), however, are starting to turn heads with their play this season and sit atop the Suburban East Conference standings.

Forest Lake, which has defeated No. 14-2A Stillwater and No. 15-2A Mounds View already, has a potent combo in Kaitlyn VanTassel (11-13-24) and Maddie Kolbow (11-8-19). Goalie Kaylee Remington has a 2.08 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage.

White Bear Lake has also delivered some big wins this season. The Bears (9-4, 4-3) defeated No. 9-2A Cretin-Derham Hall for the first time in three years and topped Roseville for the first time in a decade.

Sophomore forward Ashley Healy (3-10-13) gave White Bear Lake a 1-0 lead before Chaska/Chanhassen rallied for a 3-1 win on Dec. 19. Senior forward Sarah Moy (13-10-23) has nine points in the past three games.
