Thief River Falls at Roseau
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5

When Kora Torkelson gets on the scoresheet, No. 5-1A Thief River Falls usually wins. Torkelson (13-7-20) has gone without a point in four games this season — all losses for the Prowlers (11-5, 4-2).

Roseau, however, reversed the trend, using three first-period scores to beat Thief River Falls 4-3 on Nov. 24 despite two goals from Torkelson.

The Rams (10-6, 5-1) have won six of their past eight games with their two losses coming against No. 5-2A Eden Prairie and No. 10-2A Cretin-Derham Hall at the Eden Prairie Mid-Winter Meltdown.

Junior forward Lindsey Santl (14-7-21) and sophomore defender Jenna Byfuglien (6-12-18) lead Roseau in points. Each had a goal in a 3-0 win over Benilde-St. Margaret’s on Dec. 29 in the holiday tournament.

With a win, the Prowlers can pull into a tie with the Rams for second place in the Greater Minnesota Conference standings. Both teams trail No. 4-1A Warroad, which sits atop the league at 6-0.
