Blaine at Centennial
7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12

Centennial is one of two teams to defeat Blaine this season. The No. 12-2A Cougars (14-5-1, 9-3) upset the No. 7-2A Bengals 4-2 on Dec. 8 behind two goals apiece from Gabbie Hughes and Anneke Linser.

Blaine (16-2, 9-2) hasn’t lost since, going 10-0 and has allowed just eight goals over the stretch behind goalies Jaela O’Brien (9-1, 0.90, .943) and Morgan Cin (7-1, 0.88, .942), who have combined for seven shutouts this year.

The Bengals will be without junior defender Emily Brown, a Minnesota commit, who is playing in the International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 World Championships in Ontario, Canada.

Freshman forward Ramsey Parent (16-14-30) has picked up the slack for Blaine with a goal in six straight games. Paige Beebe didn’t register a point in the first meeting with Centennial but leads the Bengals with 19 goals and 14 assists.

The Cougars have gone 12-1-1 since a 5-2 loss to Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids on Nov. 24. Allison Pitlick scored twice as Centennial rallied from a two-goal deficit for a 4-3 overtime win against Anoka on Jan. 9.
