Elk River vs. Centennial
3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17

Elk River had its four-game winning streak snapped with a 2-0 loss to No. 3-2A Eden Prairie on Dec. 9, but the No. 6-2A Elks responded with a 6-2 win over Northwest Suburban Conference rival Anoka on Dec. 10.

The Elks (7-2, 1-0) rely on a balanced offense, with five players scoring 12 or more points this season. Kelsey King leads the group with nine goals and 17 points.

One-goal losses in November to No. 2-1A Breck and No. 2-2A Maple Grove are the only blemishes on Centennial’s resume.

The No. 7-2A Cougars (6-2) have combined for 23 goals in their last three games while allowing one to each opponent.

The well-documented duo of juniors Gabbie Hughes (13-21-34) and Anneke Linser (12-16-28) are must-watch skaters who can break open games.
