Maple Grove vs. Hill-Murray
2:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14

Maple Grove's two losses this season have been to No. 1-2A Edina, making the No. 2-2A Crimson an impressive team and a formidable foe.

Maple Grove (13-2, 7-0) has outscored opponents by a staggering 61-18 margin. Pacing this outrageous offensive attack are forwards Mannon McMahon (16-17-33) and Taylor Wente (16-16-32). The Crimson, however, will be without Wente this week, as the Minnesota commit is in the Czech Republic playing for Team USA in the Under-18 championships.

It will be up to the No. 5-2A Hill-Murray defense and sophomore goalie Ava Bailey to keep Maple Grove's dangerous offense in check. Bailey leads the Metro East Conference with a .950 save percentage and six shutouts.

The Pioneers (14-3, 6-0) look to put some pressure on the Crimson defense, which has held opponents to a total of four goals in the second period through 15 games. And they do so with Minnesota commit Abigail Boreen leading the way. The junior forward enters the week with 16 goals and 30 points this season.
