Grand Rapids/Greenway vs. Elk River
7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 13

Grand Rapids/Greenway may be the hottest team in Class 2A, with the Lightning unbeaten in nine straight games (7 wins, 2 ties).

Grand Rapids/Greenway (13-4-2, 2-0) has proven to be masters of the close win, reeling off four one-goal victories during the stretch. Much of the scoring punch has come from sophomore Quinnipiac commit Sadie Peart (14-17-31) and seniors Maddy Illikainen (12-16-28) and Megan Dulong (11-15-26).

Elk River had its six-game winning streak snapped in a 1-0 loss to No. 1-1A Blake on Dec. 31, and the extra time off could do some good for the No. 4-2A Elks, who also had four one-goal wins during their run.

Elk River has a formidable offense, with six players totaling 15 or more points this season. Leading the herd is senior forward Andrea Westgaard (9-13-22), who will be a primary threat for the Elks (12-3-0) in this Class 2A, Section 7 matchup.
