Blake vs. St. Paul United
7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17

Eight consecutive wins carry Blake into this matchup with Independent Metro Athletic Conference rival, St. Paul United.

The Bears (16-2-1, 4-0) know their foe well, having secured last year's Class 1A state title with an 8-0 victory over the United. The shutout streak continued this season, as No. 1-1A Blake shut out St. Paul United 3-0 in the first meeting of this season on Jan. 3.

Scoring on the Bears may not be any easier this go-round, as sophomore defender Madeline Wethington could be back in the lineup after competing with Team USA.

St. Paul United (14-3-1, 1-1) ended an 11-day layoff with a 3-1 win over Mahtomedi on Jan. 14 and look to get back into the swing of the season against the Bears.

Sophomore forward and Cornell commit Joie Phelps (18-23-41) is the mainstay on offense for the No. 3-1A United, while a defense that equally rotates three goaltenders is anchored by junior blue-liner Bergen Kobienia (3-8-11).
