Centennial vs. Eagan

This nonconference matchup between north and south metro teams features squads that are off to strong starts.

Centennial opened the season Nov. 11 with a 5-3 win against No. 1-1A Breck and then dismantled Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper 11-0 on Nov. 18.

The No. 6-2A Cougars (2-0) are led by senior forward Gabbie Hughes. The Minnesota-Duluth commit has tallied four goals and five assists this season. 

Eagan defeated No. 8-2A Maple Grove 4-1 on Nov. 14, an impressive victory that helped the Wildcats to a 4-0 record. 

Defense has keyed Eagan's start. The Wildcats have allowed just three goals behind the play of junior goalies Ashley Larson and Maddie Nickell. The tandem has combined to post a .967 save percentage.
