Red Wing vs. Proctor/Hermantown

5:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9

Red Wing's success has become one of the main story lines early this season. The No. 3-1A Wingers will be tested this week as they take on No. 10-2A Proctor/Hermantown.

Red Wing senior captain and Minnesota commit Taylor Heise comes into this season with plenty of expectations. Thus far, she's delivered with 14 goals in seven games for the Wingers (6-1, 1-1).

The Mirage don't have a flashy record due in part to playing tough competition. Proctor/Hermantown (2-3) has losses to two of Class 2A's best — No. 2-ranked Blake (9-0 on Nov. 25) and No. 1 Edina (7-1 on Nov. 24).

For the Mirage to slow Heise and Red Wing, the goaltending tandem of Ryan Gray and Samantha Lewis will need to perform well. They have combined for a .804 save percentage and a 4.20 goals-against average this season.
