Centennial vs. Hill-Murray

2:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6

So far this season, Centennial has faced some of the state's best. That trend continues Saturday when the No. 2-2A Cougars take on Hill-Murray.

Centennial (13-1-1) suffered its first loss Saturday against Blake in the Schwan's Cup Gold Division final, where the Cougars were shut out for the first time this season in a 2-0 defeat.

Blake thwarted Centennial senior forward Gabbie Hughes, who came into the game with 26 goals and 19 assists this season.

The No. 4-2A Pioneers will look to do what the Bears did defensively. Hill-Murray is led by a strong goaltending duo of junior Ava Bailey and sophomore Rachel Kennedy. They've combined for a 1.53 goals against average and .926 save percentage this season.

Bailey started the Pioneers' most recent game on Thursday. She stopped all 14 shots as Hill-Murray (12-3, 5-0) defeated Roseville 1-0 in Kaposia Classic in South St. Paul.
