St. Paul United vs. East Grand Forks

7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19

As part of swing through a greater Minnesota, St. Paul United visits East Grand Forks on Friday before heading to Thief River Falls. But this is no vacation for the United, whose road trip includes matchups against three of Class 1A's top 10 teams, including the No. 1-1A Prowlers.

The No. 8-1A United (11-7, 1-2) have one victory in the travel log, defeating No. 9-1A Duluth Marshall 2-0 win on Saturday behind the performance of Samantha Burke. The senior forward had a goal and assist in the win and leads the team with 19 goals and 35 points.

She'll need to continue her strong play as the United face a reeling East Grand Forks team. The No. 7-1A The Green Wave (12-6-1, 4-4-1) had a tough weekend, with losses to No. 2-1A Warroad (2-0 on Friday) and to St. Cloud (6-0 on Saturday).

East Grand Forks' strong offensive output comes from players such as senior forward Cynthia Loven. Despite leading her team with 25 goals this season, she was held without a point in both losses and needs to rebound quickly to help the Green Wave end their skid.
