Hill-Murray vs. Maple Grove

7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25

This matchup of highly ranked Class 2A programs will likely come down to the play of the goaltenders, who have competed and succeeded against some of the state's best this season.

Junior Ava Bailey has stood tall for No. 4-2A Hill-Murray (18-3, 7-0) most of the year, including in a 2-1 overtime win against Cretin-Derham Hall on Friday. She finished with 18 saves and enters the week with a 1.32 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage.

Maple Grove is one of the state's hottest teams, owning a 12-game unbeaten streak, and goalie Lucy Morgan has had much to do with that success. The junior (1.42 GAA, .944 SV%) has eight shutouts this season for the No. 6-2A Crimson (13-4-4, 7-3-3), with her most recent coming in a 7-0 victory against Osseo/Park Center on Saturday.
