Orono vs. Delano/Rockford

7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30

These two Wright County Conference foes look to gain some momentum as they enter their respective section tournaments next week.

Orono has struggled at times this season, but the Spartans (7-13-3, 3-5-2) have talent —  namely Lizi Norton, who could make Orono a contender come playoff time.

The Minnesota-Duluth commit has won two gold medals at the International Ice Hockey Federation's Under-18 Women's World Championship, including this year.

Norton leads the Spartans in goals, assists and points (17-14-31), but she was held off the scoresheet in Saturday's 1-1 tie against Holy Family Catholic/Waconia.

Delano/Rockford will try to hold onto its conference lead against Orono. The Tigers (15-8, 8-2) have just a one-point advantage over Holy Family Catholic/Waconia and New Prague with two games remaining, including the regular-season finale at New Prague.

Delano/Rockford can look to junior forward Anna Keranen for help maintaining its advantage. She has a team-best 16 goals this season, including two in a 3-1 victory over Mound Westonka on Jan. 25.
