Forest Lake vs. Edina

7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18

The top spot in next week's Class 2A state rankings could be up for grabs this week should Forest Lake upset Edina on Tuesday.

Forest Lake begins the week as one of the few unbeaten teams in the state. The No. 5-2A Rangers (10-0, 7-0) won three games last week, including a 1-0 victory on Dec. 13 against No. 3-2A Andover (which was the top-ranked team in the Dec. 5 poll).

Rangers goaltender Allyn Goehner has a 1.40 goals-against average and will be key in slowing an Edina  attack that has tallied 58 goals (sixth best in the state) entering the week.

Edina has won 10 consecutive games since losing 4-3 to Andover in its season opener on Nov. 8, and the Hornets (10-1, 1-0) head into Tuesday's contest with momentum after beating No. 4-2A Wayzata 3-0 last Saturday. CC Bowlby and Annie Kuehl each have 23 points this season to fuel the No. 1-2A Hornets offense.
