Two Class 1A powers will meet again Wednesday, days after playing a thriller in the Schwan's Cup Gold Division, as St. Paul United beat Mahtomedi 4-3 on Dec. 26.
St. Paul United (4-8-2, 0-1) carries a state ranking, No. 8-1A, despite having a losing record. The United have two players, Jenna Hoops and Madison Shuman, with 12 points in 14 games.
Mahtomedi (7-6-2, 3-2-1) will look to get back on track after losing twice and tying Rogers at the Schwan's Cup over the holiday break.
The No. 9-1A Zephyrs have kept opponents at bay defensively thanks to goaltender Lauren Hamme who sports a 2.51 goals against average in 15 games.
