Albert Lea vs. Faribault

7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8

Albert Lea is tasked with stopping one of the state's best scorers in Tuesday's Big 9 Conference contest against Faribault.

Olivia Williamson has emerged as one of the state's most dominant offensive weapons, and is helping Faribault (14-4, 12-2) climb to the top of the league standings. The junior is the state’s No. 2 scorer, tallying 31 goals in 18 games, including a season-high five scores on Dec. 29  against Austin.

Albert Lea already has a firsthand account of how Williamson can tilt the ice. She netted four goals and added an assist in a 9-1 road win for the Falcons on Nov. 8.

The Tigers (5-9-2, 1-6-1) head into the contest hoping to match their season win total from last year. Goaltender Maddie Schneider has been a big factor in the Tigers' improvement, with a .916 save percentage over 14 games in net.
