Brainerd/Little Falls

vs. Fergus Falls

7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22

Tuesday's meeting between Central Lakes Conference rivals Brainerd/Little Falls and Fergus Falls will also provide a playoff primer for two teams looking to make a long postseason run — and allow one to extend a winning streak.

Brainerd/Little Falls is cruising on an 11-game winning streak thanks to a defense bolstered by goaltender Olivia King (16-2-1; .920 save percentage). King and the No. 6-2A Warriors (17-2-1, 7-0-0) have given up just 14 goals during their winning streak, which dates back to mid-December.

Fergus Falls (16-5-0, 8-1-0) last loss was a 3-0 decision to Forest Lake on Dec. 29, and the Otters hope to carry that momentum not only through the rest of the regular season but also into the Class 1A, Section 6 playoffs.

After losing in the second round of the section playoffs last year, Fergus Falls has emerged as a contender this season behind senior Sophie Rausch, who's 33 goals has played a significant role in the Otters' standing.
