Roseau vs. Thief River Falls

*7:30 pm. Tuesday, Jan. 29

*Postponed. No makeup date announced.

Victories are not easy to come by in the Greater Minnesota Conference.

And with the end of the regular season fast approaching, both Roseau and Thief River Falls know finishing strong can help boost postseason aspirations.

The No. 8-2A Rams are carrying a three-game winning streak into Tuesday's tilt; their last loss came on Jan. 18 in a 3-0 matchup with Class 2A, Section 8 rival Brainerd/Little Falls — the same team that beat them in last season's section final.

Roseau (19-4-0, 7-1-0) has continued to win with an attack averaging more than four goals per game. Kayla Santl has provided the spark, netting 50 points through 23 games.

Thief River Falls looks to get back on track this week after falling to Sartell/Sauk Rapids 2-1 on Saturday.

The No. 6-1A Prowlers (15-7-0, 5-4-0) hope a victory Tuesday turns into the push they need to improve on last year's postseason performance, when they lost 5-2 to East Grand Forks in the Class 1A, Section 8 semifinals.

Shelby Breiland has a team-best 23 goals this year, and Thief River Falls may need to continue leaning on the sophomore forward to avoid an upset to Roseau and challenge for a section title.
