The Coleraine native was the Lightning’s top goal scorer last season with 33 in 27 games and finished with 47 points. A varsity member since she was an eighth-grader, Vekich, also a volleyball standout, scored a goal and added two assists in 4-1 season-opening win over Bemidji on Nov. 12. She’s scored at least one goal in 11 straight games dating back to last season.
