Another team that made its first state tournament appearance last season, Rochester Lourdes, is off to an undefeated start behind the scoring of senior Sarah Dravis, who shares the state lead with 10 goals.
Lourdes (4-0-0) has an abundance of talent that also includes senior forward Emma Schmitz, a Sacred Heart University commit, and junior defender Maggie Hanzel, who's committed to Boston University.
Mahtomedi rebounded from a season-opening loss to White Bear Lake with three straight victories, including road triumphs over Iron Range foes Eveleth-Gilbert (2-1 on Nov. 15) and Hibbing/Chisholm (3-0 on Nov. 16). Senior Emme Nelson leads the Zephyrs (3-1-0, 0-0-0) with three goals.
