We’re more than a month into the season and many teams are reaching the midpoint of their schedules. Just two of them remain undefeated: Andover and Maple Grove.
How did they get here? Andover (12-0-0, 8-0-0) knocked off a No. 7-2A Forest Lake team with just one loss on Dec. 12, when the No. 1-2A Huskies got goals from Madison Kaiser, Gabby Krause and Peyton Hemp in the 3-1 triumph over their Class 2A, Section 7 rival.
Maple Grove (9-0-1, 6-0-0) has won nine straight since a season-opening 3-3 tie with No. 5-2A Eden Prairie on Nov. 9. The No. 6-2A Crimson have allowed one or fewer goals in seven of those victories. Junior Brooke Cassibo has been stellar in goal, posting a .944 save percentage and 1.30 goals against average.
