Warroad vs. Roseau

7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7

Northern rivals in the midst of superb seasons, each featuring a bevy of standout players — does high school girls’ hockey get any better?

Five players have scored eight or more goals for Roseau (10-4-2, 5-0-0), led by senior Bemidji State commit Kayla Santl’s 22.

The Rams appear to be still searching for their go-to goaltender, as they have given significant minutes to all three of the trio of junior Josie Johnson, sophomore Justine Vanasek and eighth-grader Jade Pelowski.

Warroad (13-3-1, 5-0-0) senior Hannah Corneliusen is running away from the pack in the race for the state scoring title, as her 57 points — including 38 goals — pace the No. 2-1A Warriors and is 11 more than the next highest scorer, who just happens to be teammate Geno Hendrickson.
