New Ulm (13-6-0, 10-0-0) outshot Luverne (16-3-1, 8-1-1) 30-9 in the teams’ first meeting, holding Cardinals freshman sensation Kamryn Van Batavia without a goal for one of just four times so far this season. Van Batavia has 33 goals, slotting her at No. 3 for scoring on the state leaderboard to begin the week.
New Ulm senior Molly Scheid had a stretch of three games with three or more goals in mid-December and leads the Eagles with 17 tallies.
