Edina vs. Maple Grove

7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31

On the subject of dynasties, the one based in Edina shows no signs of crumbling any time soon. The three-time defending Class 2A state champion Hornets have reeled off 22 straight victories — 10 by shutout — since losing their first game of the season, 1-0 to Andover on Nov. 7.

One of the few teams to challenge No. 2-2A Edina this season is Maple Grove (17-5-1, 9-1-0). The Hornets (21-1-0, 10-0-0) slipped past the No. 5-2A Crimson 2-1 in the semifinals of a holiday tournament on Dec. 26.

Tristana Tatur and Lauren Stenslie share Maple Grove’s goal-scoring lead with 20 goals apiece. Junior Emma Conner’s 24 goals and 40 points leads Edina.
